The Great White Shark, known as the White Death or the White Pointer, are one of the most deadly sea creatures on earth. This predator can weigh up to 2,300 kilograms and it can grow up to 6 metres.

Great White Sharks are usually spotted just of the coast of place such as California, Australia, Mexico, the Mediterranean and New Zealand. This species is also found in parts of Madagascar, Kenya and the Caribbean. And also in the sharks migrate in an area that stretches from California to just off the coast of Hawaii.
The longest trip swam by a shark was a 6 metre Great White that swam from the south coast of South Africa to the northeast shore of Australia. I took about nine months for it to travel 20,000 kilometres.
The longest Great White ever caught was a female shark (female sharks are naturally larger than male sharks) that weighed over 7 metres long! It was caught off the coast of Hualian County, Taiwan in 1997 in the Pacific Ocean. The heaviest shark was caught in the Cuban Waters in 1945 that weighed over 3,220 kilograms.
Most people think of sharks as deadly human eaters. Well, the truth is that sharks don't normally eat people. Only four species of sharks have ever tasted a human before. The Great White Shark is included. But scientists found out that they rarely take humans as food. Their diet is usually fish. Rays, tuna, dolphins, smaller sharks, whales, seals, sea otters, sea lions, orcas, penguins... and many other sea creatures. Female sharks are usually the ones hunting, due to their size. Studies have shown that Great Whites successfully hunt down their predators 55% of the time in the first two hours of hunting time. However, after the two hours, its percentage drops down to 40%.
The Sea World in San Diego had the longest period of time for keeping a Great White Shark. It was held for 16 days in August 1981 before being sent into the wild. Prior 1981, no aquarium has been able to beat the record.
